Description

Two story auxiliary gymnasium and classroom addition with a total of 27,199 SF; Educational Occupancy with Type IIB Construction. The existing building will receive renovations including the 1st floor entry vestibule, 2nd floor corridor, and lower level. The lower-level renovation scope will be bid as an add alternate. 2. HVAC system will be split into (3) systems. System 1 will serve plan east of the gymnasium, System 2 will serve plan west of the gymnasium and System 3 will serve the gymnasium. System 1 will consist of (1) roof mounted energy recovery unit delivering outside air to (1) packaged multi-zone VAV rooftop air handling unit with gas heat and hot gas re-heat. VAV's with electric reheat for zone control. System 2 will consist of (1) roof mounted energy recovery unit delivering outside air to (1) packaged multi-zone VAV rooftop air handling unit with gas heat and hot gas re- heat. VAV's with electric reheat for zone control. System 3 will consist of (2) packaged single- zone rooftop units with gas heat and hot gas reheat. All air handling units are capable of economizing. Supplemental heat will be provided to stairwells, vestibules and the mechanical room by wall mounted electric heaters. Gas water heater to serve the locker rooms and laundry room with a hot water return loop. Electric water heater to serve restroom groups and concession stand with a hot water return loop. Plumbing fixtures according to architectural plans, approved by the owner. Alternate bid HVAC system will consist of (1) packaged air handling unit with gas heat and hot gas reheat mounted on grade, serving the lower-level renovation scope with a multi-zone VAV system. New LED lighting, with occupancy sensors throughout. A new, voice evacuation, fire alarm system throughout that will be monitored by the existing FA system in the existing building. A new electrical service will be provided from Duke Energy. A generator connection cabinet will be provided for an owner provided, portable generator to be connected if needed. The Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below for Senior High School Gym and Classroom Addition for a General Contract (All trades). Combined bids will also be received by the Owner for Senior High School Gymnasium and Classroom, Mineral Springs Elementary School Classroom Addition, and Fairview Heights Elementary School Gymnasium Addition. Electrical - the electrical system will include a new 277/480v/3o/4w electrical service fed from a new pad-mount utility transformer by Duke Energy. power distribution by one (1) new 277/480v/3o/4w service entrance rated distribution panel. an additional 277/480v/3o/4w distribution panel will feed one (1) 480-208y/120/3o step-down transformer that serves two (2) lighting and receptacle branch panels. an existing 400a/3p a.t.s. switch will be provided by the owner and installed by the contractor. electrical connections will be provided by the contractor to serve select loads in the building. a new portable generator connection cabinet to be provided by the contractor located on the outside of the building. a new fiber homerun will be provided from the existing mdf in the existing school to a new idf in the new addition. a new voice evac fire alarm system with new fire alarm control panel will be added in the new addition with monitoring and controls connections to the existing fire alarm system in the existing school. new led lighting throughout with stand-alone and occupancy/vacancy controls. contractor to provide boxes and conduit for new access controls, paging, security cameras, local sound, and data systems.
