Description

The City of Olathe s infrastructure Department is requesting contractors to submit a Statement of Qualification to provide on-call water service line repair and replacement services for lead and galvanized water service line replacement projects throughout Olathe. The City is currently working to inventory both private (customer side) and public (City side) water service line materials and replace lead and galvanized water service lines as required by the Lead and Copper Rule revisions. In situations requiring replacement of the service line, it is often necessary to contract with a firm that can excavate and perform repairs and/or replacement of the broken lines and return the area to rough grade, performing the work according to the City of Olathes Technical Specifications. It is the intent of the City of Olathe to identify and accept all firms that are qualified to perform the types of work listed in this RFQ to establish a list of qualified vendors. The City will use this list to solicit quotes/bids from the identified companies on a job-by-job basis. The requirements below should assist excavation/repair companies in developing their specific statement of qualifications and should be considered to represent the MINIMUM standards for providing on-call water and sewer line repair services as established by the City of Olathe. All statements of qualifications must meet or exceed the following requirements. Ability to perform planned and emergency excavations for various depths up to 10. Ability to perform all excavations in all types of soil conditions including bedrock and paved roadways. Ability to bore water service line materials under sidewalks, driveways and/or paved roadways. Successful contractor(s) shall have sufficient equipment available for all types of jobs. This includes proper equipment for the removal of all waste products, materials, scrap, debris and spoils from work sites and restoration of sites to rough grade. Ability to respond to emergency situations within two (2) hours of notification. Successful contractor(s) shall have sufficient staff to work 24 hour shifts in emergency situations. Ability to repair/replace water service lines in sizes up to 3 pipe in area of excavation. Ability to conduct work zone and trench safety operations according to OSHA Safety Standards to ensure the safety of the public, workers and property during such time as the work is complete. Question & Answer deadline Oct 25, 2022 (Tue), 5:00 PM
