Description | The work consists of demolition of existing wood framed windows throughout portions of the basement and all of first, second and third floors. Contractor is hereby notified that the window caulk contains asbestos and will be impacted during demolition operations. The work also includes the provision and installation of new aluminum clad wood framed windows with insulated glazing. Latest Time to Submit Request for Interpretation: Monday, July 10, 2023 This project must be complete and ready to operate by March 15, 2024. A penalty of $100.00 shall be deducted from the final payment for EACH CALENDAR DAY the system is not able to operate after March 15, 2024 Further, the final payment shall be withheld until the Construction Inspector agrees that all provisions of these specifications have been satisfactorily accomplished. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or bank draft in the amount of 10% of the bid amount. Upon acceptance of the Contractors bid the Contractor shall be required to procure and pay for a Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the bid amount. Bonds shall comply with all laws of the State of Illinois governing public contracts let by government units. The County of Christian reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in any bid and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the County. Further, the County of Christian, when its opinion is in the best interest of the County, reserves the right to: 1) accept any bid; 2) wave technical deficiencies and irregularities; 3) allow bidder to remedy technical deficiencies or irregularities within a stated time; 4) rescind any notice of award if the County of Christian determines the notice of award was issued in error; 5) re-bid any contract. William R. Kennedy, or successor appointed by the chairman of the board, will act as Construction Inspector for the County. |
