Description

Question Deadline 04/21/2023 To receive consideration, such questions shall be submitted in writing via email (for this purpose, Direct all inquiries in writing to Kien Ho at BETA Group, 315 Norwood Park South, Norwood, MA 02062, KHo@BETA-Inc.com at least five calendar days before the established date for receipt of Bids. The project consists of installation of two (2) pedestrian traffic signal systems at two (2) crosswalks locations and the construction of sidewalk, crosswalk at twelve (10) locations along Main Street in the Town of Great Barrington, MA. The work in this Contract includes, but not limited to, construction of high visibility brick imprint crosswalks, installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB), installation of new pullbox, traffic signal conduit and electrical power source connection, sidewalk, driveway, and pedestrian ramp construction, installation and resetting of curbing, pavement markings, sign installation and adjustment, excavation and site leveling, full depth pavement and pavement patching, bollard installation, drainage structure installation and adjustments, and tree protection. To bid on this project, MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, HIGHWAY SIDEWALK & CURBING OR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION, with an estimated value of $460,000.00 will be required, in accordance with 700 CMR 14.00. "Informational Only" copies of the Contract Documents will be available to any individual or firm. Bid Security: Certified, treasurer's or cashier's check or bid bond in the sum of five (5) percent of the Total Bid is required. Date for Completion for this project shall be November 15th, 2023. Including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. State Prevailing Wage Rates apply and established for the project in the contract documents. No Bidder may withdraw their bid within Ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening. Successful Bidder must furnish 100 percent Performance and Labor and Materials Bonds and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within five (5) days following notification of the acceptance of his Bid. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the OWNER. Bids are subject to Massachusetts-M.G.L. Chapter 30- Section 39M and to Massachusetts minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. Chapter 149- Sections 26 to 27D inclusive. The award of the contract is contingent upon the availability and appropriation of funding by the Town. All costs associated with the preparation of the bids shall be the responsibility of the bidder, regardless of whether or not the Contract is awarded. The successful bidder shall certify all employees at the worksite have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health approved by the U.S. (OSHA) at least 10 hours at the time employee begins work shall furnish documentation of successful completion course with first certified payroll for each employee. The Owner and Engineer, being considered the sole and only judge, reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject, any or all bids, should the Owner deem it to be in the Owner's best interest or the public interest to do so
