Description

As of April 25, 2023, this project has been placed on hold. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. The Columbus City School District announces a Request for Qualifications for the following professional design services: Architect of Record More information can be found on the District's website FH Building 66 Renovation: This project will consist of working with the district's Academics, Broadcasting, and Facilities teams to design a multimedia broadcasting office space in conjunction with collaborative classroom space in a Historic Structure. Future classroom spaces can be reprogrammed to more closely align to current pedagogical philosophy and model the District's Portrait of a Graduate attributes. Goals of the project might include: a. Introducing student led design to student centered learning b. Increasing transparency and flexibility c. Integration of technology into classroom design d. Better connecting interior and exterior learning environments e. Completing model classroom renovations that showcase space to allow teachers and students to experience 21st century learning environments and prepare for upcoming Facility Master Plan projects The successful firm will be selected through a Request for Qualifications process. The selected consultant will be responsible for providing the following services: a. Working with CCS staff, confirm one or more sites where this work will be executed b. Hosting visioning sessions with key District stakeholders c. Contracting and coordinating with relevant subconsultants. Full MEPT consultant services should be anticipated. d. Evaluation of existing conditions e. Design phase documentation including construction documents and project manual development. f. Preconstruction services including scheduling and estimating g. Bid phase and contract award support h. Construction administration and closeout services i. Historic Renovation j. Navigating State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) approval k. Site Master Planning l. Signage and Graphics m. City Zoning n. Acoustics o. Radio Production p. Audio Production q. Broadcasting r. ESSER funding - prevailing wage requirements (provide PW coordinator role for evaluating pay applications).
