Description

1. Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure: Currently the structures to remain that require sanitary services are the Administration Building, Output Building No. 1, Output Building No. 2, Container Building and in part the Compost Storage Structure. These services are currently directed and discharge to the existing Slowdown Pump Station which is designated to be demolished in a later Phase. This Contract includes the installation of an eight (8) inch diameter gravity sanitary sewer, with associated manholes which divert the wastewater to an existing cure pad pump station that will remain and is located adjacent the Cure Pad. This work must be completed prior to any electrical work proposed by this contract. Contractor's work shall also include demolition and disposal of all construction debris, and all associated work and restoration as shown on the Contract Documents plans and specified in these Specifications. Electrical and Communication Services: Similar to the Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure, structures to be demolished currently house the electrical services for structures that will remain, being the Output Building No. 1, Output Building No. 2, Cure Pad Pumping Station, Cure Pad, and Container Building. The existing Control Building will be the new location for the Electrical and Control Distribution Center for the site. This work will include the demolition of the existing electrical equipment, and the provision and installation of the new Electrical Equipment and Controls within the Control Building. Coordination is required with Atlantic City Electric Company regarding temporary shutdown of the existing transformer that provides power to the existing Control Building. This Contract includes the installation of the proposed new service, and final decommissioning of the existing transformers. Contractor's work shall also include the installation of site lighting, as well as the demolition and disposal of all construction debris, and all associated work and restoration as shown on the Contract Documents plans and specified in these Specifications. 3. Domestic Water Services: The domestic water will be extended for future use, more specifically to the Output Building No. 1, Output Building No. 2 and Odor Control Facility. Contractor's work shall also include demolition and disposal of all construction debris, and all associated work and restoration as shown on the Contract Documents plans and specified in these Specifications. Building Restorations: Electrical work requires that equipment and devices be installed through penetrations in the roofs and walls of the Container Building, the Control Building, Output Building No. 1 and Output Building No. 2. All such penetrations must be restored per the following sections of this specification: Section 07 11 13 - Bituminous Dampproofing Section 07 84 00 - Firestopping Section 07 90 05 - Joint Sealers lso, the existing interior surfaces of the Control Building must be painted in accordance with Section 09 90 00 - Painting, after the removal of the existing wall mounted electrical equipment that has been designated for demolition and before the installation of the new wall mounted electrical equipment. 5. Decommissioning of Existing Utilities: The Project site contains numerous services, such as drainage, cooling water, sanitary force mains, city water, fire water pond, fire services waster, buried electrical reuse water and natural gas service lines. Included in this Contract with be the isolation and decommissioning of these services as designated on the Contract documents. This shall include site restoration in kind.
