Description | The total work for the Key Haven Wastewater Force Main Improvements - Phase 2 consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, fittings, valves, connections to existing system and all incidentals and appurtenances for the installation of approximately 5,440 LF of 8" force main improvements by slip-lining; 2,040 LF of 8" force main improvements by directional drilling; 300 LF of 8" force main improvements by open cut; 8" flow meter; flushing connections; air-release valves in vaults; force main fittings and appurtenances; electrical; instrumentation and controls; and site restoration for the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA). Construction also includes dewatering, MOT's, complying with permit conditions, testing, and all restoration work for a complete and operating system. The work will be within FDOT and Monroe County rights-of-way. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a copy of certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. A copy of the certified check must be attached to the bid Bid in ebuilder. The Contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest single lump sum/unit cost price Bid, with consideration of any Alternate(s) accepted by the FKAA. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents. All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Florida, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida. In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractors' and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes. Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the FKAA will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the FKAA to evaluate the Bidder's qualifications. Firms are hereby placed on formal notice that neither the FKAA Board of Directors, nor any employees of the FKAA are to be lobbied either individually or collectively concerning this project. The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Bids where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Bid not in compliance with the Contract Documents. The FKAA reserves the right to waive any informalities and irregularities in said Bids. |
