Description | The City of Arcata (City) is soliciting bids for the Fickle Hill Water Tank #6 Coating Project. The Project includes surface preparation and application of protective coatings on a 200,000-gallon, steel water tank located in Arcata, California. Contractors must possess a valid Class C-33 and/or Class A, or the appropriate special California's Contractor's License at the time of bid submission and for the duration of the Contract. Contractors must possess a valid Business License from the City of Arcata prior to commencing work and demonstrate the necessary qualifications to complete the work described in the Scope of Work in Attachment A. The selected contractor will enter into a construction contract (Attachment C - Sample Construction Contract) prior to commencing work. The City of Arcata has determined that prevailing wages apply to this Project. The selected contractor must register with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 prior to award of a contract. Inquiries regarding this RFP should be submitted in writing to: Danielle Allred, Contracts and Special Projects Manager 736 F Street, Arcata, CA 95521 dallred@cityofarcata.org 707-825-2101 January 18, 2024, 5:00 PM Deadline to Submit Questions The Scope of Work for the Project shall also include: General Contractor shall clean and prepare outer surface of water tank and appurtenances prior to applying City-provided sealant and coatings according to manufacturer's specifications provided in Attachment A.1. Surface preparation to include power washing and scuffing of painted surfaces. Preparation work shall not include abrasive blasting. Perimeter of tank edge at the ground must have rust and chipping paint removed by means other than wire brush, (i.e., ball peen hammer) to ensure a proper surface adhesion of sealant. Application of "Amerlock epoxy sealer," "Amerlock2 epoxy coating," and "PSX 700 siloxane coating" shall be performed according to manufacturer specifications. See Attachment A.1 - Manufacturer Specifications. Contractor shall supply evidence of coat thickness for each of the above applications, per the Specifications. Service, supplies, and equipment to be provided by the Contractor include, but are not limited to the following: o Labor o Various materials and supplies o Tools and equipment o Transportation vehicles o Administration, management, and maintenance support to perform services as specified |
