FMF-13 Carbottom Furnace Repair

3.1. The contractor shall repair rear of Car (full width x full thickness x 1”). The contractor shall tear out the rear section of the car, install anchors, form and cast 60% alumina low cement castable. 3.2. The contractor shall repair the sides of the car (5’ long x full thickness x 1”). The contractor shall tear out the sides of the Car deck refractory at the back of the Car, install anchors, form, and cast 60% alumina low cement castable. 3.3. The contractor shall repair the right jamb and bottom side seal of the Car. 3.4. The contractor shall remove and replace the bottom 3’ of the right jamb brick of the Car. 3.5. The contractor shall brace/support entry arch above jamb, add steel channel at base of sand seal under jamb, replace brick with Super Duty brick, clean debris from left sand seal, and jack brick back in place within the Car. 3.6. The contractor shall test the Car bottom furnace at the end of the repair receiving approval from NFPC. 3.7. NFPC will supply containers for debris. The containers will not leave the facility.
