Description

Work will include all materials and labor for electrical installation at the new Public Works facility. Qualified contractors are invited to bid. Contractor shall furnish and install one 16,000 gallon tank with 12,000 gallons to be gasoline and 4,000 gallons to be diesel. Tank shall meet UL 2085 standards. The fire code requires class IB and II liquids for fleet vehicle motor fuel-dispensing facilities to be housed in a “protected” AST in accordance with UL 2085. The fire code defines this as, “Tank, Protected Aboveground: A listed tank system consisting of a primary tank provided with protection from physical damage and fire-resistive protection from a high intensity liquid pool fire exposure.” The tank system may provide these protection elements as a unit, or may be an assembly of components or a combination thereof (IFC: 202). 1. Contractor shall provide two twin pump dispensers. Remote fill, pipe fitting and values, and vents. 2. Contractor shall provide one Fuel Master 2500 Plus (the City already has Fuel Master software and keys). 3. Contractor shall provide decals as necessary to distinguish products and/or safety warnings, such as “unleaded,” “diesel,” “no smoking,” “flammable,” etc. 4. Contractor shall provide guard posts as per industry standards. Posts shall be constructed of steel not less than 4” in diameter and shall be filled with concrete. Posts shall be spaced not more than 4’ apart on center. Posts shall be set not less than 3’ deep in a concrete footing of not less than 15” diameter. 5. City will supply all the electrical power needs including data for the pumps and Fuel Master to the fueling station only. Contractor shall be responsible for all subsequent conduit, wiring, and connections. 6. Contractor is responsible for the design and installation of the concrete pad to support fuel tanks and equipment. Tanks and pump shall be on the same grade. 7. Contractor shall touch up all paint as necessary after installation. 8. Contractor is responsible for obtaining required permits and inspection certificates, permit fee will be waived. 9. Equipment, materials, and installation shall be guaranteed for one year from date of acceptance. Defects which appear during this period should be corrected at the expense of electrical contractor. Materials and components thereof shall be new and shall be UL approved where a standard has been established. Components shall be equal to those scheduled on the drawings. 10. Bid is for labor, materials, and installation to complete job per specifications. 11. All work shall comply with 2018 edition IFC and NFPA 30, and all State and Local codes. 12. Contractor shall remove all debris associated with the New Fuel Station. 13. Contractor shall be responsible for complying with all applicable safety requirements for its workers and others. 14. Contractor shall coordinate with the City of Orange Beach to identify and comply with any traffic safety requirements and/or utility line locations. 15. Contractor shall comply with the work schedule as described in Item C, “Coordination.”
