Chester County School District CIP - GFES Renovations and Additions

Plans call for an addition and renovation to Great Falls Elementary School: - New addition that will provide a clear front entry for the school. This addition will include a new administration suite, conference rooms, and other support spaces. This will also connect the existing corridors providing students and staff with safe and connected circulation through the building. - Renovation of existing administrative wing to (3) classrooms. New location of art and chorus classrooms. - Renovation of existing art and storage science equipment storage to expand existing cafeteria. - Renovation of existing gymnasium support spaces. Converting existing showers and storage rooms to boys and girls' bathrooms. Demolition of plywood wall at stage and installation of new stage in existing chorus room. New finishes throughout spaces. As of May 30, 2023, this project was approved by the school board. Currently there are no submissions to the South Carolina Office of School Facilities for approval. An architect and construction manager have been selected. Information regarding subcontractor bidding has not been disclosed. A firm timeline has not been released, however construction should start before the end of 2024.
