Description | Improvements will be made on Old Toll Bridge Road for demolition and reconstruction of approximately 700 feet of roadway and construction of an open bottom concrete crossing in place of an existing culvert. Work to include excavation, placing and grading of fill material to raise the road grades, construction of gravel base, placement of pavements, installation of piping, placement of drainage, seeding and mulching, riprap protection on the roadside slopes, paving of approximately 700 feet, guardrail, and required erosion control measures. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Eastport or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and surety company in the among equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a contract performance surety bond and a contract payment surety bond, each for 100 percent of the contract price. No bid may be withdrawn for at least 60 days after receipt of bids unless released by the City of Eastport. The project is entirely or partially funded with CDBG funds through the State of Maine Department of Economic and Community Development Maine Decision Number ME20210027. The bidder's attention is called to the Federal Conditions, Federal Labor Standard Provisions and the Wage Rate Schedule included in these contract documents. Should a discrepancy exist between the Supplemental Federal Conditions, Federal Labor Standard Provisions and the Wage Rate Schedule and the other sections of the contract documents, the Supplemental Federal Conditions, Federal Labor Standard Provisions and Wage Rate Schedule shall apply. The "State of Maine, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, Revision of March 2020" and Portland Water District Construction Specifications will govern all work. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder, and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non- responsive or conditional bids. Discrepancies between words and figures will be resolved in favor of words. Completion Date: August 30, 2023 - Surface Pavement Complete September 30, 2023 - substantial completion. |
