Description

The scope of work entails removing and replacing defective concrete slabs within an existing Fire Station driveway as shown on plan sheet nos. 2 & 3 along with replacing sections of type “D” curb, sub-base preparation and material testing in accordance with applicable FDOT guidelines. The existing concrete slabs vary in thickness from 6” to 7” thick and must be saw cut and removed as part of the base bid work. Environmental concerns involve placement of silt fence along the project perimeter, covering existing inlets, and appropriate MOT is required to isolate/barricade the project area. It should be noted the proposed concrete has a design strength of 4,000 psi, minimum 8” thickness and has reinforcing steel mats (i.e. #4’s one foot o/c each way) along with being doweled into existing slabs to remain intact.
