Description | There Are Two Projects on the Second Floor of Building 31b That Arose Near-simultaneously. As a Result, the Projects Have Been Consolidated for Efficiency Totaling 6,640 Sf Including the Corridor. The Nih Branch of the Public Health Division, Health and Human Services (Hhs) Office of the General Counsel (Ogc/phd/nih) and the Ogc Ethics Division's Nih Office (Collectively, Ogc) Provide Legal Services to the Office of the Nih Director and to Nih's Institutes and Centers, as Well as to Other Hhs Operating Divisions. The Space is 3,980 Sf Subdivided Into Approximately 1,657 Sf and 2,323 Sf Spaces on Either Side of a Hallway on the 2nd Floor. The Office of the Ombudsman (Ombuds, Aka Center for Cooperative Resolution or Ccr), Which is Part of the Od Administers Assistance to Members of the Nih Community in Addressing Lab- and Work-related Issues. The Office Space Approximately 1,390 Sf. The Existing Spaces Assigned to the Ogc & Ombudsman Have Not Been Comprehensively Renovated in Decades and Are Deficient in Several Important Respects, Including Faulty Hvac Systems With Lack of Temperature Control, Inadequate Soundproofing, and an Outdated Electrical and Telecommunications Network. Both Groups Are Pursuing a Renovation Design to Optimize the Use of Their Available Space While Also Updating the Areas to More Modern Workplace Standards. Ogc and the Ombudsman Have Worked Out a Preliminary Agreement That Room 2b55 Which is 240 Sf Will Be Split Horizontally, Whereby the Ombudsman Gains the Northern Half (Facing the Exterior) and Ogc the Southern Half (Near the Public Corridor). The Corridor is Included in the Renovation, Totaling 1,030 Sf. This Project is to Be Delivered in Two Phases as Two Severable Packages Performed Simultaneously, Starting With Ombuds. Each Phase Would Be Required to Be Complete and Function Independently. There Are Two Projects on the Second Floor of Building 31b That Arose Near-simultaneously. $2.5-3 Million *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
