Guardrail Reconstruction, Trenching and Installation of Curb and Gutter at M-30 and Bensch Road

The work at Location 1 shall consist of reconstructing guardrail, removing the existing curb and gutter at the bridge, trenching, re-establishing the ditch, constructing new curb and gutter with spillways and riprap, and placing aggregate base and two lifts of hand patching to fill the remaining gap between the curb and gutter and existing hma edge. Slope restoration will be placed in all the disturbed areas as per the attached Special Provision. Place silt fence at the west end of the project to catch any sediment runoff during construction. Remove silt fence when riprap is placed and turf is well established and approved by the Engineer. The Work at Location 2 shall consist of reconstructing guardrail, trenching, repairing washout areas with embankment, constructing new curb and gutter with downspouts and riprap, and placing aggregate base and two lifts of hand patching to fill the remaining gap between the curb and gutter and existing hma edge. Slope restoration will be placed in all disturbed areas as per the attached Special provision. Place silt fence as shown on the plans to catch any sediment runoff during construction. Remove silt fence when riprap is placed and turf is well established and approved by the Engineer. Location 1: Begins in Clement Township, Gladwin county on the north side of M-30 at the bridge crossing the middle branch of the Tittabawassee river and continues easterly to Bensch Road Location 2: Begins in Buckeye Township, Gladwin county on the north side of M-61 approximately 300’ west of the M-30 intersection and continues easterly to M-30.
