Description | Q&A Tuesday, September 26, 2023 Any written Inquiry for Clarification must be received seven (7) or more business days prior to the Bid Opening Date and Time. Any request received by the City after this deadline will not be given consideration. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing via email through your account Comprehensive new membrane roof installation including demolition of existing roof materials and unused roof equipment, and new code-compliant levels of insulation on roof walls and deck, and parapet and side wall waterproofing and flashing. Intend to Bid Due Date October 3, 2023 A. Roof Hatch: The roof hatch is furnished and installed by others. The guardrail and ladder are furnished and installed by this project. The roof hatch is Bilco Model #MS-50 with a custom 29" high curb. The ladder will be installed to the top landing of Stair C, and the height will need to be verified in the field. B. Dumpster Placement: Assume for the bid that the dumpster can be placed within 10 feet of the building. The location of the dumpster will be coordinated onsite. C. Concurrent Work: The contractor is expected to coordinate with other trades working onsite. There are many other trades onsite working on the first-floor gut renovations of the Health Department Office and Clinic and the Department of Public Works Office and Maintenance Garage. The Health Department is anticipated to receive substantial completion November 1, 2023 and will be occupied December 1, 2023. The Department of Public Works Maintenance Garage is anticipated to be operational in January, 2024 and the offices to be occupied in March, 2024. There is also ongoing site work in the parking lot and on South Wallace and electrical service work on South Wallace. Protect existing and new construction from damage and maintain a clean job site. D. Roof Equipment: The roof equipment is shown on the roof plan indicated as new or to be removed as part of the roof replacement project. The structure, curbing, and installation of new equipment is by others, and is expected to be completed before or during the roof installation. The curbs are all 24" high to accommodate the new insulation depth. E. Construction Schedule: The construction schedule is as soon as reasonably possible. F. Existing Roof Assembly: The existing roof assembly above the metal deck consists of 2" of insulation board, asphalt built-up roofing, 1/2" fiber cover board, single-ply EPDM roof membrane. G. Multiple Penetration Detail 30/R8: As noted a multiple penetration box will be required for each new rooftop unit. H. Wall Panels: There are no wall panels on the East Side of Roof 3 facing S. Wallace. Detail 26/R7 show the end closure for terminating the siding at the corner of the pop-up |
