Purchase of Muck and/or Sand Grown Sod

1. Type of sod required under this bid shall be Muck and/or Sand grown Floritam, Bermuda 419 or Argentine Bahia. 2. All sod shall be composed of specified grass type and shall be virtually free of other types of grass and shall be free of disease, insects, weeds or other undesirable vegetation. Sod shall be healthy in appearance, with green blades of grass. 3. Sod root development and soil mat shall be such that standard size pads will support their own weight and retain their size and shape when suspended vertically. 4. Sod shall be machine stripped at a uniform thickness of 2” and shall be fresh and viable at the time of pick-up or delivery. 5. Broken, torn, injured, or irregular palettes of sod will be rejected. 6. The City will pick up one (1) to fourteen (14) palettes per truck load. Average for swale projects is fourteen (14) pallets per truckload. 7. City personnel will install the sod.
