Acquisition of Punkin Water Association Water Meter Replacement

The work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, and materials other than water meters, and performing all operations necessary for removal of existing cold water meters and installation of new wireless radio read water meters. The Owner will provide new meters to the Contractor for installation. In general, the major items of work under this contract shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following: Removing existing water meters and installing new radio read water meters for an automatic meter reading system. There are approximately 1,300 meters to be removed and replaced. Furnishing miscellaneous fittings as maybe required for meter installation. Replacement of broken meter boxes or meter box tops as required. Collection of old meters and delivery to Utilitys designated site. The Project includes the following Work: Removing and replacing approximately 1,300 existing potable water meters with new AMR meters furnished by the Owner. Bids are requested for a single prime contract. The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder for the Base Bid. Bid security in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders in the Project Manual. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals will not be considered in making the award. The City of Oxford reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids if considered not in the best interest of the City of Oxford, Mississippi.
