Description

This project provides additional drainage capacity along San Juan Avenue. The existing roadway has two (2) sixty (60) inch x thirty-eight (38) inch elliptical concrete pipe (ECP) cross drains under San Juan Avenue. The work includes the removal of the two (2) existing 60” x 38” ECP’s and replacement with a double six (6) foot x three (3) foot box culvert. This project will include other work associated with the construction of the drainage improvements such as maintenance of traffic, erosion control, clearing and grubbing, dewatering, regular excavation, embankment, flowable fill, prepared soil layer, type B stabilization, Optional Base Group 6, Asphaltic Concrete, Milling, type F curb and gutter, four inch and six inch sidewalk, closed flume inlets, aluminum pipe handrail installation, concrete endwall construction, temporary shoring, rip rap, sodding, and pavement markings. Maintenance of drainage flow through the temporary culverts will be a major component of the project while the new box culvert is constructed.
