Description

Qualified laboratories interested in providing 96–hour acute multi-concentration effluent toxicity testing for the City of Tarpon Springs. 2. The selected laboratory will conduct semi-annual 96-hour acute multi-concentration toxicity tests for the Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility (AWWTF) located at 201 East Pine Street, Tarpon Springs, FL, using Ceriodaphnia dubia and Cyprinella leedsi. All tests will be conducted on four (4) grab samples collected by City staff over a 24-hour period. Testing will be conducted in accordance with EPA-821-R-02-012 and the permitee’s NPDES Permit requirements attached for reference. Please note the FDEP Operating permit for AWWTF is currently in the renewal process and operating with requirements of previous issuance until completed. 3. The selected laboratory will also conduct quarterly 96-hour acute multi-concentration toxicity tests for the Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant (RO WTP) located at 1624 L&R Industrial Blvd, Tarpon Springs, FL, using Americamysis (Mysidopsis) bahia and Menidia beryllina. One grab sample collected by City staff during discharge events will be used to initiate the multi-concentration tests. Testing will be conducted in accordance with EPA-821-R-02-012 and the permitee’s permit requirements attached for reference.
