Description | This project includes removing sanitary sewage sludge from one (1) Van Buren Wastewater Treatment Plant by means of dredging and pumping, and then land applying the sludge at two (2) separate application sites. Sludge from the Van Buren South Plant shall be pumped to the Owner's South Application Site on Arkansas Highway 59, 2.6 miles south of Interstate 540 via an existing force main, then land applied. Additional sludge from the South Plant will be transported by tanker trucks to the Owner's Yoestown Application Site on Yoestown Road (County Road 4) in southeastern Crawford County, where it will then be land applied. Details regarding quantities and application site locations are included in the Project Specifications. Bidders will be required to inform themselves of all Addenda duly issued in accordance with the requirements provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Information regarding the number of Addenda that have been duly issued can be obtained from Hawkins-Weir Engineers. Each Bidder must deposit with their Bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. All Bidders must be licensed in conformance with the Arkansas State Licensing Law for Commercial Contractors as defined in Arkansas Code 17-25-101 and related statutes. The City of Van Buren Municipal Utilities reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any and all Bids. Bids shall remain firm for a period not to exceed 60 days from the Bid opening date. The City of Van Buren Municipal Utilities encourages participation of small, minority, and woman owned business enterprises in the procurement of goods, services, and construction, as either a general contractor or subcontractor. |
