Design and Construction of Aquatics Center Building at Burns Road Community Center

The existing SF of the Burns Road Community Center is 43,114 SF. The City intends to modernize the entire facility over the next several years. This DCP encompasses only Phase 1, which includes demolishing an existing 1,456 SF restroom and 288 SF lifeguard buildings and constructing a new 6,234 SF Aquatic Center Building in their place. The remainder of the facility will remain operational during construction. The City is currently in the process of reconstructing the adjacent main pool, which is being completed under a separate contract. The City hopes to have both the main pool and the Aquatic Center Building under construction at the same time. PHASE 1 New Aquatic Center Building • Demolition of the existing 1,456 SF restroom and 288 SF lifeguard buildings • New aquatic staff area with workstations and kitchenette • Two new storage rooms • New office RFP2021-064CS – Design and Construction of Aquatic Center Building Design/ Build Criteria Package 8 • New first aid room • New covered patio with drinking/bottle-fill fountains and (3) exterior pool showers • New locker rooms • Two (2) new family restrooms • New janitor closet • New electrical and mechanical rooms for Phase 1 and future phases. • New entrance gate/fence to aquatic complex directly from parking lot. Note: The Lakeside connector road and northwest parking lot will be constructed under a separate contract. The gross areas of Phase 1 are as follows: • Building Addition = +/- 4,591 SF • Covered Patio (Non-AC space) = +/- 1,643 SF Sub-Total +/- 6,234 SF
