Description | The proposed project will replace the existing sub-surface pump station, which will be decommissioned and abandoned in place. The project will include new electrical components, pumps and pump controls and discharge pipeline components in a duplex submersible pump station which is beyond its effective useful life. In addition, a new 35KW emergency generator and relocated pump controls and remote monitoring system will be constructed on an elevated platform to provide floodproofing. Other station improvements will include a new safety grate and concrete cover for the pump chamber, epoxy resurfacing of the concrete pump station interior, new system check valves, asphalt pavement replacement, drainage improvements and site restoration. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid in the form of a bid bond or certified check, made payable to the Town of Union. Contractors shall document good faith efforts to solicit active participation by Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) for provision of labor and/or materials as appropriate.
