Description | 1. The City of Ocala requires the services of an experienced contractor to complete the construction of SW 44th Avenue Extension from SR 200 to SW 20th Street. 2. The scope of the project involves extending the two-lane SW 43rd Street Road from the existing culde-sac to SW 43rd Court, extending the existing two-lane SW 43rd Court from SW 32nd Street to existing lift station (0.0827 Mile) and reclaiming SW 43rd Court from the lift station to SW 20th Street (0.7538 Mile) creating a new two/four lane divided roadway alignment for approximately 1.76 miles. 3. The typical section of SW 44th Avenue Road construction will be 6-foot-wide traffic separator, 5-footwide bike lanes, 5 to 6-foot concrete sidewalks on both sides of the roadway, type E and F curb and gutter, sod, addition of left and right turn lanes, as well as signing and pavement marking. Driveway modifications are also anticipated. 4. Drainage work includes installation of stormwater manhole, manhole top modifications, ditch bottom Inlets, 18" RCP stormwater pipes, as called out in the plans. The project will also include the construction of a new 8" PVC water main along SW 43rd Street Road and lining existing manholes. 5. Inlet protection system, sediment barrier, soil tracking prevention devices are also included. Construction activities include mobilization, maintenance of traffic, clearing and grubbing, earthwork, and installing new chain link fence. All pedestrian facilities must adhere to current ADA standards. 6. Proper maintenance of traffic is required at all times. 7. Contractor is responsible for providing all materials, labor, and equipment to complete the project. The requirements for this listing are outlined in the exhibits. PRICING AND AWARD 1. Bids will be received on a unit price basis. 2. Award will be made to the lowest bidder whose pricing has the lowest total cost for all unit prices. 3. Bidder will honor prices for sixty (60) days after award of solicitation. Formal Question Due By: 9/19/2022 @ 5:00 PM EST BID BOND: Bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany each Bid. Acceptable formats: AIA document A310, EJCDC form, or format acceptable to the surety. If a contract is required, only City of Ocala contracts will be used for all goods and services.
