2021 Rock and Timber Replacement and Tail Track Upgrade Project

2021 Rock and Timber Replacement: lifecycle maintenance/replacement of approximately 1,000 decaying timber ties and ballast in areas of need indicated on the drawings (mainline track, spurs, sidings, turnouts, etc.), removal and replacement of approximately 1,350 LF of 115 LB rail on the high side of the Belly Track curve, replacement of decaying timber ties in a road crossing, and installation of a new dual-treated timber switch package at the Star/Industry Lead Turnout. Tail Track Upgrade: replacement of approximately 5,800 LF of existing 85 LB rail with 115 LB rail, removal and replacement of approximately 250 timber ties, removal and replacement of three 85 LB turnouts on timber ties with three 115 LB turnouts on steel ties, the addition of ballast and tamping of existing ballast along approximately 1,950 LF of track. Additive alternates to include the removal and replacement of additional timber ties and the replacement of timber ties with steel ties at the Manufab Spur Turnout. Deductive alternates to include the salvage/scrap value of the removed 85 LB and 115 LB rail. This work also includes but is not limited to removal and disposal of old ties, removal and reuse of existing tie plates and anchors, spikes, tamping, ballast.
