Description | The Work required by this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: Design, fabrication, delivery and construction of a replacement Shiploader, suitable for loading coal, petroleum coke, soda ash, calcite, sulphate, and pyrabor onto vessels, at Pier G. Signed Contract, Insurance and Bonds. If Conditionally Awarded a Contract by the Board, within thirty (30) calendar days after the Contract is conditionally awarded to the Contractor by the City, execute and deliver such Contract to the Chief Harbor Engineer together with all required documents including insurance forms, a Payment Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, and a Performance Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. All Bonds shall be on forms provided by the City. Conditional Award of Contract and Reservation of Rights. The Board, acting through the Chief Executive Officer, reserves the right at any time before the execution of the Contract by the City, to reject any or all Proposals, and to waive any informality or irregularity. The Conditional Award of the Contract, if any, will be to the responsible Proposer that submits the best value Proposal as specified in the Request for Proposals (RFP). If the best value selected Proposer fails to submit the required documents including insurance forms, bonds and signed Contract within thirty (30) calendar days after Conditional Award of Contract, NIP 30720.1p N-7 HD-S3123A the Board reserves the right to rescind the Conditional Award and Conditionally Award the Contract to the next highest scored, responsive Proposer. Prevailing Wage Requirements per Department of Industrial Relations. This Project is a public work Contract as defined in Labor Code Section 1720. The Contractor receiving award of the Contract and Subcontractors of any tier shall pay not less than the prevailing wage rates to all workers employed in execution of the Contract performed in the State of California. The Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California has determined the general prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed. The rate schedules are available on the internet at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlsr/DPreWageDetermination.htm and on file at the City, available upon request. Contractors are directed to Article 15 of the General Conditions for requirements concerning payment of prevailing wages, payroll records, hours of work and employment of apprentices. |
