Description | The purpose of the Wilson Pond Dam Improvement Project is to reconstruct a portion of the existing dam so that it meets current dam safety regulations, which includes the ability to pass the 100-year flood event with a minimum of 1.0-feet of freeboard. In order to do so, this project consists of the excavation and removal of material on both the upstream and downstream sides of the existing dam, the demolition and installation of a new cast-in-place intake structure and reinforced concrete outlet pipe, the installation of a concrete hydraulic cut-off wall upstream of the original stonewall dam, raising of the earthen portions of the dam to contain the design flood, and the placement of a granular filter on the downstream side of the earthen portions of the dam. The project also includes traffic control measures on Arch Street. Two (2) lane travel is required at all times, and NHDOT approved traffic control measures are required. The Contractor is responsible for traffic control and shall prepare a traffic control plan, then coordinate with the NHDOT to review and obtain approval of the traffic control plan from NHDOT prior to mobilization. The control of water, including the bypass of discharges through the project site and into the downstream channel is required at all times. All construction shall be performed in the dry. Contractor shall submit a specific control of water plan to the Engineer and NHDES for review and approval prior to mobilization.
