Description

Please contact Jeannie Jefferies to be added to the Plan Holders List. Contract entails milling and paving bituminous asphalt pavement, crack filling, patching, and related items on various City streets. The project consists of cleaning and tacking the existing pavement, furnishing and installing Asphalt Super pave Bituminous Concrete (ASBC) surface and base courses, milling of existing bituminous concrete pavement, wedging and leveling, crack filling, slurry seal, and all material, labor, equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. No prebid meeting is planned. Direct questions in writing to Rodney Tissue at rtissue@hagerstowmmd.org no later than July 5, 2022 at 4:30 pm. This is a one-year contract that may be extended for one (1) additional year upon mutual agreement of the City and the Contractor from July 1, 2023 to June 30. 2024. Liquidated damages are assessed at $300.00 per day for every CALENDAR DAY the work remains incomplete. Schedule to be agreed upon prior to the start of work. Funding for this project is provided by the General Fund of the City of Hagerstown utilizing State Highway User Revenue. The estimated not-to-exceed amount will be approximately $1,200,000 for 2022 and may be reduced significantly due to the pandemic. 10% Bid Bond, Cashier's Check or Certified Check to be submitted with the Sealed Proposal. The successful Bidder shall submit a 100% Performance Bond and a Labor & Materials Payment Bond upon award of contract. The contract is in effect from August 2022 to June 30, 2023 and may be extended as described above. Notice to Proceed for isolated patches, crack filling, and some mill and pave streets will be issued in late summer 2022 depending upon funding availability and other considerations. Majority of paving will occur in early 2023.
