Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This project generally consists of construction of a new automated weather observation system (AWOS III P/T) at Ridgeland-Claude Dean Airport. Work includes the AWOS III P/T, minor site work and electrical connections. Jasper County will receive sealed bids for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work for an AWOS III P/T Project. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, made payable to Jasper County, South Carolina, equal to 5% of the total bid is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required No bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of proposals for a period of ninety (90) days. A Notice-of-Award for the Contract will be issued once a successful bidder has been determined. The Davis-Bacon Act ensures that laborers and mechanics employed under the contract receive pay no less than the locally prevailing wages and fringe benefits as determined by the Department of Labor CONTRACT TIME The Project is to be completed within a maximum 60 consecutive calendar days from the commencement date specified in the written Notice to Proceed. Construction (field work) will begin only after AWOS system is fabricated and ready for installation. The project will be constructed in multiple phases, some of which will require work within the runway and taxiway safety areas. Goals for minority participation for each trade: 29.8% Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9% Estimated Range $250,000 to $500,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
