Description

** As of June 19, 2023 , project received no bids. No definite date for the rebid.** No Bids Received- will readvertise on May 4th, 2023 Interstate Main Line Relining Project. This project shall include all material, labor, equipment and installation required to complete all element(s).This project shall include all material, labor, equipment and installation required to complete all element(s). Each sealed bid shall be accompanied by either a cashier's check or satisfactory bid bond, in a sum, which is not less than five (5%) percent of the aggregate amount of the bid, payable to the City of Florence. Successful bidder will be required to execute and to provide construction contract security in an amount not less than one hundred percent of the bid. All bids must be made on the required Bid Form. Two completed copies of the Bid Form are required. Contractors shall register with Viox & Viox, Inc. to qualify as a bidder. No substitution of Contractors shall occur without change of registration.If hard copies are requested, they must be ordered and paid in advance by credit card and can either be mailed or picked up in the foyer at Viox & Viox next business day (no contact). Viox will waive any additional charges for mailing and handling. Questions from contractors during the bidding process should be submitted in writing, via email or fax, to Viox & Viox, Inc., SUBJECT: "COF-INTERSTATE MAIN LINE RELINING." Scope of Work The work to be performed under this Contract consists of furnishing all plant, materials, equipment, supplies, labor and transportation, including fuel, power, water, (except any materials, equipment, utility, or service, if any, specified herein to be furnished by the Owner), and performing all work required in the statement of work in the Contract, in strict accordance with the specifications, schedules, and drawings, all of which are made a part hereof and including such detail drawings as may be furnished by the Engineer from time to time during the prosecution of the work in explanation of said drawings. 2. Project Signs None required. (The Contractor is required to provide any other signs requested by State, Federal, or Local agencies) 3. Field Office None required. 4. Existing Utilities Special precaution shall be taken by the Contractor to avoid damage to existing overhead and underground utilities owned and operated by the Owner or other public or private utility companies. With particular respect to existing underground utilities, all available information concerning their location has been shown on the drawings. While it is believed that the locations shown are reasonably correct, neither the Engineer, nor the Owner can guarantee the accuracy or adequacy of this information. Before proceeding with the work, the Contractor shall confer with all public or private companies, agencies, or departments that own and operate utilities in the vicinity of the construction work. The purpose of this conference or conferences shall be to notify said companies, agencies or departments of the proposed construction schedule, verify the location of and possible interference with the existing utilities that are shown on the plans, arrange for necessary suspensions of service, and make arrangements to locate and avoid interference with all utilities (including house connections) that are not shown on the plans. The Engineer and the Owner have no objection to the Contractor arranging for said utility companies, agencies, or departments to locate and uncover their own utilities, however, insofar as the Owner is concerned, the Contractor shall bear entire responsibility for locating and avoiding or repairing damage to said existing utilities. Location: Intersection of US 42 & I-71/75 GENERAL It is the intent of this specification to define the approved methods and materials for the rehabilitation of existing gravity sewer lines by the Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) process. This specification provides for the reconstruction of sewer pipelines by installation of a cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) in accordance with ASTM F-1216-93, ASTM F-1743-96, or ASTM F-2019-03. These sewer lines are in a structurally unsound condition and/or have excessive ground water infiltration. The rehabilitation system shall be "trenchless technology". No excavation or surface restoration should be necessary unless a point repair is required. Excavations or point repairs are not considered a part of this contract. In the event any point repairs are needed they will be completed by the City of Florence crews or their designated excavation contractor. THE CITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONSIDER OTHER RELEVELANT REHABILILATION MATERIALS AND METHODS UPON APPROVAL BY ASTM. This specification consists of the method and process for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary, to provide for the complete rehabilitation of deteriorated gravity sewer lines by a CIPP process that is to be installed by a licensed contractor of a process equivalent to Inliner U.S.A., Insituform, or Blue-Tek TM. The contractor will pay all license fees and royalties and assume all costs incidental to the use in the performance of the work or the incorporation in the work of any invention, design, process, product or device that is specified in the Contract Documents for use in the performance of the work, and if to the actual knowledge of the Owner or Engineer it's use is subject to patent rights, trade secret protection rights, or copyrights calling for the payment of any license fee or royalty to other, the existence of such rights shall be disclosed by the Owner in the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall indemnify and hold harmless the Owner and Engineer and anyone directly or indirectly employed by either of them from and against all claims, damages, losses and expenses (including attorneys' fees and court and arbitration costs) arising out of any infringement of patent rights, trade secret protection rights, or copyrights incident to the use in the performance of the work or resulting from the incorporation in the work of any invention, design, process, product or device not specified in the Contract Documents, and shall defend all such claims concerning any alleged infringement of such rights.
