Description

As of October 11, 2022 a design team, contruction timeline has not been established. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference. SCDOT proposes to construct a right turn lane on the southbound approach of Vaucluse Road turning right onto University Parkway and to extend the left turn lane storage on the eastbound approach of University Parkway turning onto Vaucluse Rd. SCDOT also proposes to construct a cul-desac on Croft Mill Rd approximately 425 ft. from University Parkway. This is an important safety project to help reduce the frequency and severity of crashes occurring at these intersections, according to SCDOT. The agency said high speeds combined with failure to yield right of way and disregard of traffic control are factors that may have contributed to the crashes. The agency anticipates property negotiations to last through "late 2021," while construction is anticipated to begin in "early 2023." Meeting attendees will be provided with project displays and the opportunity to provide written comments. Formal verbal comments will not be accepted.
