Description | Scope Details Replacement of Engine Components While performing any job under contract, Contractor shall (1) perform any repairs necessary to enable an engine or an engine component to perform in accordance with Manufacturer's specification for a new engine and (2) replace any parts which are defective or which, according to the Manufacturer's specifications or recommendations, should be replaced at the time Contractor is performing the job. Special Requirement for testing of engine Any engine, which the Contractor overhauls pursuant to this contract, shall be tested by running on a certified test stand prior to return to Metro. This test run shall be performed for the period of time that is recommended in the Rolls Royce 250-C20 Serie Operation and Maintenance Manual #10W2. During the test run, the engine must perform full in accordance with the specifications promulgated by the Manufacturer for a new engine. If the engine fails the test run, Contractor shall correct the malfunction at no additional cost and repeat the test run procedure until the engine has passed the test. Engine Transport Contractor shall be responsible for all transport of engines and engine components to and from the Metro Nashville Police Department, Aviation Division, 2715-B Tucker Road, Nashville, TN 37218. Contractor may meet this responsibility by: (1) Contractor transporting the engine/components to and from the Metro Aviation; (2) overhauling and maintaining to engine/components in a mobile unit at Metro Police Aviation; or (3) designating a common carrier which will transport the engine and engine components to and from Metro Nashville Police Department, Aviation Section. Damage in Transport/Insurance When any engine and engine component is taken into possession by the Contractor or of a common carrier for transport, risk of loss shall be with the Contractor. Contractor shall provide for insurance in the amount of the Manufacturer's list price for all engines and engine components, which are transported by either the Contractor or by common carrier. Certifications Contractor warrants that the Manufacturer authorizes him to perform overhaul and maintenance services on the engines/components specified. Contractor shall allow only skilled mechanics, which have been trained and certified by the Manufacturer, to perform overhaul and maintenance services under this contract. Contractor shall observe the highest standard of diligence and care in the performance of its overhaul and maintenance responsibilities and shall meticulously follow the standards and procedures required by the Manufacturer (including all service bulletins) for overhaul and maintenance service. |
