Description

The Town of Swanzey (the Town) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms (Contractors) for the erection of a 12 X 30 addition off the rear of Fire Station 3 located at 34 Main St. For more information interested contractors can contact Fire Chief William Gould at 603-358-6455 ext. 150 or Code Enforcement Officer Mike Jasmin at 603-209-4068. Structure: Site work, trenching and connection for sewerage (rough all plumbing drains), 4 foot frost protected foundation with wire re-enforced insulated slab 4 inches thick, 8" at extractor location. (4,000 psi concrete) Exterior walls to be 2X6 SPF 2' o.c. with 5/8" OSB plywood sheathing with wrap and vinyl siding and trim to match existing. Rafters to be 2 X 10 16" o.c. with 5/8 CDX sheathing, rubber roof to match existing EPDM. Interior partitions to consist of 2X4 spf kd 16 o.c with blocking for grab bars save bathroom wet wall which will be 2 X 12 see dimensional place holder Exterior door to be 3' X 6' 8" solid fiberglass LH out swing with crash hardware and deadbolt. Concrete landing and step(s) if required Roxul batt insulation (wall and ceiling). Interior door to be supplied and installed by Town of Swanzey. Electric baseboard heat. 1/2 " sheetrock. White FRP 6 foot up wall areas prone to moisture exposure. (@12 linear feet around three bay sink) Laundry room Three bay sink with side boards Wall mount pre rinse faucet with 44" hose. Extractor (Supplied by town of Swanzey) Gear dryer (Supplied by Town of Swanzey) One ceiling light fixture Four outlets (2 GFCI) 2 part epoxy floor finish with integrated cove baseboard Exit sign / emergency light combination Heat detector to be tied into existing alarming system. Bathroom Comfort height toilet 38" x 38" cut corner shower stall and enclosure Accessible sink with accessible paddle faucet. Paper towel dispenser by the Town of Swanzey Mirror by the town of Swanzey Toilet paper holder by the town of Swanzey. MR drywall Light fan combination with humidistat control. Emergency lighting 2 part epoxy floor finish with integrated cove baseboard Award of Contract - It is the policy of the Town of Swanzey that contracts are awarded only to responsible vendors. In order to qualify as responsible, a prospective vendor must meet the following standards as they relate to this request: have adequate financial resources for performance or have the ability to obtain such resources as required during performance; have the necessary experience, organization, technical and professional qualifications, skills and facilities; be able to comply with the proposed or required time of completion or performance schedule; and have a demonstrated satisfactory record of performance. Approved Alternates - All specified materials are subject to "approved equal" submissions, all approved equal submissions need to have complimentary manufacturer supplied specification data.* Due to supply chain issues and prices there are no specified materials. Selection - It is the policy of the Town of Swanzey to select vendors on the basis of the best overall value to the Town. Some of the factors considered when determining the best overall value are: Price, Quality, Warranty, Service, Availability, Past Performance with the Town of Swanzey, and References. Pricing - All prices should include all labor and material costs, and any discounts offered. Governing law - All contracts entered into by the Town shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire. Any claims arising out of the contract shall be brought only in the Cheshire County Superior Court. Payment - The Town and the Contractor may mutually agree to intermediary payments at stages of completion of the project. At least one quarter (1/4) of the total cost will be retained until the project is 100% completed. Insurance - The successful Contractor, prior to the execution of the contract, must produce a certificate of insurance, naming the Town an Additionally Named Insured, for the following types and levels of coverage: Workers Compensation Statutory Automobile and Equipment $1 Million/$2 Million Property Damage $1 Million/$2 Million General Liability $1 Million/$2 Million
