New Saluda Elementary School - Phase 1 Prep & Demo

M. B. Kahn Construction Co., Inc., the Construction Manager at Risk, interested contractors and vendors to provide pricing and cost proposals for the Phase 1 Early Prep Package for the New Saluda Elementary School for the Saluda County School District. Proposers are not to contact the Owner or Architect directly. All inquiries are to be made to David Knight at (803)-227-1243 or via email: dknight@mbkahn.com. Questions or clarifications need to be submitted in writing to the MBK no later than close of business on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 for them to be responded to by addenda. The general scope of work is labeled as Phase 1- Demolition on the drawings and includes, but is not limited to, the following: - Demolition and abatement of one classroom wing (Approx. 9,700 sf) and associated sidewalks and walkway covers. The storefront windows and classroom LED lights are to be removed and turned over to the Owner. - Provide temporary walkway as indicated on drawing - Removal of existing ETV tower - Infill two wall areas as shown - Removal of existing transformer and temporary feed to existing building - Temporary relocation of an existing HVAC unit serving the existing building - Installation of underground telecom raceways for the relocation of the existing fiber optic cables, indicated on the drawings as Phase 1 - The Owner has performed or will have performed the following items: --- Removal of the keyed core door locks --- Removal of the wall-hung HVAC units --- Removal of the LED light fixtures in the corridor --- Relocation of the two play structures indicated --- Furnishing and installing the new classroom interior wood door and hardware indicated NOTE: All work marked Phase 2 will be bid at a later date. Proposals exceeding $100,000 may be required to provide a 100% Performance and Payment Bond. The cost of the Performance and Payment Bond should NOT be included in the proposal, but rather shown as a separate item (including the surety provider). Along with pricing, please include any assumptions and clarifications you may have made (i.e. quantities, components, etc.). Any information provided about the sequencing and total duration of your work will be beneficial. Minority businesses are encouraged to submit proposals for this construction project. M.B. Kahn and the Owner shall award contracts to businesses who hire without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicapping condition.
