Luzerne County Road No. 40 (West County Road) Roadway Pavement Repair

1. Location of work is West County Road, County Road 40, with additional quantity as directed by the engineer. West County Road repair section is approximately 2.5 miles long and the contractor shall start near the intersection of Sugarloaf Mountain Road working toward the west and to the intersection of Rock Glen Road. The intent of the project is to repair failed sections of roadway from the center of each lane to the outside edge of the lane. Typical paving methods are standardized for the project, which include Mec-Edge, Mill & Fill, and Pothole Repair as described in these documents 2. This work item generally consists of the Contractor providing traffic control, equipment, and labor necessary to complete a pavement repair. Milling of existing bituminous surfaces include removal and haul the material to an approved spoil site. Recycle existing asphalts. Furnish, deliver and place approved Warm Mix Asphalt, WMA, in the prepared areas. Seal all pavement joints after the completion of paving 3. Under the Maintenance and Protection item Contractor shall include allowance for Signing of Detour Routes (if applicable). Any proposed road closures shall be subject to the review and approval of Luzerne County Engineer. The Contractor shall be responsible for notification and coordination of the road closure(s) with the Local Municipality, Emergency Services, School District, etc.
