Deering Oaks Accessibility Improvements

Provide materials and labor for pavement and accessibility improvements at Deering Oaks Park. Work entails ADA parking space paving and striping, creating new ADA compliant asphalt pathways, crosswalk and dwp ramp improvements for walkway connectivity, and resurfacing portions of existing asphalt walks. Existing walks my need removal of existing pavement where base needs to be reconstructed. Some other miscellaneous work is also included as outlined by the approved plans and speciications, such as a seat wall feature and some regrading and loaming of former walkway areas. a. The project includes areas of pathway removal and pathway resurfacing/construction for sections along existing driveway conditions that currently have a belgian block style curb and gutter condition. Such areas have been approved for having a continuous granite curb installed to replace such conditions, should they be disturbed during construction. b. For sections of new parking edge conditions on tennis court drive, work area A in drawings, the adjacent curb condition is a "Cape Cod" asphalt curb style curbing. This style would be an acceptable curb condition for bidders to propose. An alternative in using existing salvaged curb from City stock piles would also be acceptable for this area. Salvaged curb stockpiles for the Parks department are at District Road and Evergreen Cemetery (for coordination purposes).
