Description | 1. Sandblast to Commercial Blast specifications so that all oil, grease,dirt, rust scale, and foreign matter are completely removed from the surface and all rust, mill scale and old paint are completely removed by abrasive blasting except for slight shadows,streaks or discolorations caused by rust stain, mill scale oxides or slight,tight residue of paint or coating that may remain. If the surface is pitted,slight residue of rust or paint may be found in the bottom of pits: at least two/thirds of each square inch surface area shall be free of all visible residue and the remainder shall be limited to the light residue mentioned above. 2. Clean and prep all surfaces by means of solvent wipe using xylene or toluene. 3. If any cracks or holes are discovered, the vendor should contact the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for instructions before painting. 4. Prime with one (1) coat of industrial epoxy rust inhibitive primer to a dry coat of at least 2 mils thickness. The following primer should be used or an equivalent. If an equivalent is used, it must be approved by thePennsylvania Turnpike Commission. 5. Paint with the following polyurethane paint or an equivalent to a dry thickness of at least 2 mils. If an equivalent is used, it must be approvedby the Pennsylvania turnpike Commission. | ||
