Description

Force main in need of restoration, which is used to discharge the Lime and Huey lift station. This force main extends about 4,700 feet with a mixture of 4”, 6”, and 8” pipe. The majority of that, approximately 4,300 feet is 8” pipe. The force main discharges in a manhole and turns into gravity feed, making its way to the Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility. This force main has above normal pressures and the City requires a contractor that has the appropriate resources to perform pipe scouring to remove accumulate debris. The City’s preferred method consists of high-pressure poly “pigging” to remove the sediment accumulated in the pipes to restore flow to optimal levels. Optimal flow levels promote energy conservation and can lower pumping times
