Description | As of 11/15/2022 There was only one bidder for this project and the Owner decided to not award the project. Project Category Code: Sanitary Sewer (Gravity), Sewer Inspection/Rehabilitation Description: OWNER: The City of Mequon, Wisconsin, by the undersigned Director of Public Works/City Engineer, will receive Bids for the Sanitary Building Sewer Lateral Rehabilitation in Riverdale Park Lift Station "F" Area and Riverland Drive Lift Station "H" Area GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION The base bid includes providing traffic control for the length of the project; lateral mineral deposit removal within 63 sanitary laterals, lateral root removal within 67 sanitary laterals, testing and sealing lateral joints at 365 locations using grout, installation of 4-inch or 6-inch pressure cured CIPP short liners at 21 lateral locations, and surface restoration if needed. \ Additive work could include providing traffic control for the length of the project; lateral mineral deposit removal within 21 sanitary laterals, lateral root removal within 28 sanitary laterals, testing and sealing lateral joints at 214 locations using grout, installation of 4-inch or 6-inch pressure cured CIPP short liners at 7 lateral locations, and surface restoration if needed. BID SECURITY: A certified check, or satisfactory Bid Bond payable to the City of Mequon in the amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the Bid shall accompany each Bid as guarantee that if the Bid is accepted the Bidder will execute and file the Contract Performance Bond and Insurance Certificate as required by this contract within ten (10) calendar days after Notice of Award of the Contract by the City. \ BID REJECTION: The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive any informalities or irregularities in Bidding or accept any Bid or Bids which, in the opinion of the City, shall serve the City's best interest. \ BID WITHDRAWAL: No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the time and date set for the opening thereof, without the consent of the City. \ AWARD OF CONTRACT: It is anticipated that authorization to award to the selected qualified, responsive and responsible low bidder will be granted at the November 9, 2022 Common Council meeting. The selected contractor shall, within ten (10) calendar days after notification, provide to the City of Mequon the required contract documents for signature. COMPLETION DATE: All work shall be substantially completed by May 12, 2023. All restoration work, if needed, shall be completed by June 12, 2023. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the assessment of liquidated damages as specified by the Contract Documents. \ QUALIFICATION STATEMENT: Bidders shall be required to submit a statement of financial ability, equipment, and experience in the work prescribed. This Pre-Qualification Statement shall be submitted to the office of the Engineer no less than five days prior to the opening of bids. Failure to submit a pre-qualification statement at least five days prior to bid opening will result in the rejection of the bid. Pre-Qualification Statement forms can be obtained at the office of the City Engineer. Review of qualification statements will be made by the Engineer prior to award. Those firms whose qualifications are found to be unacceptable shall be disqualified from consideration of award. Bidder must also submit a separate pre-approval outlined in 01300 submittals. Contractor and subcontractors shall complete registration with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for inclusion on the MMSD List of Approved Contractors prior to bid. Contractors not on this list, for municipal financial reimbursement eligibility from MMSD for sewer lateral work, shall be disqualified. |
