Description

The City and the Authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) amended the local fire code in 2016 to require the use of a 3rd party reporting system for fire inspection information (IFC 901.6.2, IFC 1104.16.5.1). The City wishes to create more efficiency and accuracy by examining the available options for companies that can provide a 3rd party reporting service It is the intent of the City to select a contractor as the City's third-party fire inspection reporting entity, who can provide a program to collect and report on the results of various fire inspections which are being done by independent inspection contractors for business/building owners who are required to report such information to the SLC Fire Department. The selected contractor through its reporting program shall collect, organize, and transmit the inspections information to the Salt Lake City Fire Department in electronic form. These inspections could include but are not limited to inspections of fire escapes, extinguishers, fire suppression systems, hood systems, fire alarm systems. These inspections are required by the fire code or the authority having jurisdiction. The software program or other solution and services provided by the contractor should send out reminders to building and business owners to have their inspections completed and the reports submitted. The contractor may also notify the Fire Marshal's office of any buildings and/or businesses that fail to comply. The City would like to have some consistency with the other jurisdictions within the Wasatch Front with regard to the impact to building/business owners who have multiple buildings in multiple locations and jurisdictions. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. Question Submission Close Date 12/31/2020 3:00 PM MST
