A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the slate roof replacement of an existing building. B. The Work generally includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following major elements: 1. Removal of existing slate roofing and metal flashings. 2. Removal and replacement of deteriorated roof decking and wood blocking. 3. Removal and replacement of copper flashings and other trim metal work as detailed and specified, including new internal gutters and downspouts. 4. Removal and offsite disposal of hazardous materials. 5. Offsite disposal of all removed materials. Any questions regarding the specifications may be directed, in writing only, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023, to Peter Barrett (barrettp@guilfordct.gov) with a copy to Joan Fain (fainj@guilfordct.gov) in the Purchasing Department. a bid bond or cashiers check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid. Each bidder shall honor the bid price for ninety (90) business days from the date of the bid opening, without modification. Upon award of the bid, the winning bidder shall be bound by the bid proposal price throughout the contract period. The Town of Guilford reserves the right to reject any or all bids; or to waive defects in same, if it deems such to be in the best interest of the Town.
