Description | The work to be completed under this contract consists of the following: 1. Reuse the existing car guide rails. 2. Reuse the existing car sling and platform. 3. Reuse the existing piston and cylinder assembly for this elevator. 4. Retain the existing spring buffers and pit support channel. 5. Furnish a new hydraulic power unit with the following features: - Submersible power unit - New hydraulic valve assembly (Maxton) - 20 HP AC motor - 480 VAX, 3 Phase, 60 Hz power supply - 115 VAC valve coil voltage - New hydraulic fluid - New threaded oil line and fittings, new shut off valves (2), union connector (1) and muffler assembly - Vibration pads shall be provided beneath the power unit and oil line support brackets to isolate the hydraulic system from the building 6. Furnish and install new non-proprietary Virginia Control microprocessor type controller (similar to the existing controller) with the following features: - PA Code Compliance - Simplex operation - Solid State "Soft Start" motor starting - Automatic two-way leveling - Fire Service - Phase I and Phase II - Independent Service - Hoistway Access feature - Nudging door control - Low oil control - Battery Operated Emergency Lowering System (auxiliary switch in main line disconnect switch by owner) - Machine room diagnostic analysis - All required ADA features and circuitry 7. Retain the existing slide guides. 8. Reuse the existing entrance frames and hoistway sills 9. Reuse the existing hoistway door panels at each landing. 10. Reuse the existing fascia and dust covers in each shaftway. The existing fascia and dust covers will be re-secured, prepped, and painted with rust inhibiting enamel paint finish. 11. Furnish and install a new GAL MOVFR door operator including: - New door operator motor and control - New car door clutch and restrictor - New car door hangers, door rollers and retainers - Refurbish the electromechanical interlocks at each landing - Furnish and install new infrared door detector. The infrared door protector provides a series a light beams from the door sill to a door height of six feet. If any of the beams are interrupted, the door will either remain open or reopen if it is already closing. This device meets the door protection and reopening requirements of the American with Disabilities Act. 12. Retain the Car Operating Panel and modify for fire service Phase II and hoistway access. 13. Retain the existing hall stations. 14. Furnish and install new code compliant Hoistway Access keyswitches at the top and bottom landings. These key switches, which are required by code, allow inspection and or maintenance personnel to run the elevator "DOWN" at the top landing to inspect the car top and "UP" at the bottom landing to inspect the pit area. 15. Retain the existing cab enclosures in their condition. 16. Furnish and install new hoistway and machine rom wiring including new electro-metallic tubing, flexible piping, and galvanized steel trough in accordance with the requirements of the National Electrical Code. Also furnish and install new traveling cable that has a flame- and water-resistant PVC cover. The new traveling cable will have a minimum of 10% spare conductors. Lastly, we will install new limit switches at the top and bottom of the hoistway. 17. Paint the following items: - Machine room floor - All machine room components - All hoistway fascia, dust covers and toe guards 18. Obtain the required elevator permit and will produce all necessary paperwork (i.e., layouts, drawings, etc.) to secure the permit and will schedule for the Final State inspection. Please note that if other permits are required, i.e., building, fire, electrical, etc., they will be the responsibility of the owner. Contractor will perform the state required tests for the final elevator inspection in the presence of the assigned inspector. All our work will be done in accordance will all applicable elevator codes. All of the materials and equipment shall be non-proprietary and will have a generic design. In particular, we call your attention to the door operator system, the control system and the pushbuttons and signal fixtures. These components will not require any special troubleshooting or diagnostic tools for adjustment and or repair. Generic Non-proprietary Design of all components installed: - Unrestricted Ability to Purchase Spare parts from each respective component supplier - Unrestricted access to all OEM parameters and levels of adjustment for the maintenance of the controller - Manufacturing Engineering Support will be available to the maintaining contractor designated by the building owner - Provide all necessary parts manuals and wiring diagrams necessary for the proper troubleshooting and maintenance of the elevator system The DRPA has established a Single Point of Contact for this ITB. From the issue date of this advertisement and until full execution of the Contract Agreement, the Single Point of Contact shall be the Contracting Officer whose name and contact information appears below. Please refer all inquiries related to the Project, including Ariba technical issues to the Contracting Officer. Any violation of this condition (excluding any Ariba supplier registration questions and issues, which should be addressed by e-mailing vendors@drpa.org) may be cause for the DRPA to reject the offending Bid or rescind the Contract Award. Bidders agree not to distribute any part of their Bids beyond the Authority's Contract Administration Department. A Bidder that shares information contained in its Bid with other DRPA personnel and/or with a competing Bidder may be disqualified and its Bid may be rejected. Any and all questions or requests for clarification relating to this procurement including, but not limited to, questions concerning Bid submission requirements, technical requirements, scope of work, and specifications, should be addressed to the Single Point of Contact no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, July 25, 2022. |
