RFP D/B - Widen SR 1770 (Eastern Avenue/Sunset Avenue) and SR 1603 (North Old Carriage Road)

Shortlist Confirmed The Design-Build Project U-5026 / U-5996 / R-5720 will widen SR 1770 (Eastern Avenue/Sunset Avenue) and SR 1603 (North Old Carriage Road) to multi-lane facilities; provide a new interchange at I-95 and SR 1770 (Sunset Avenue); and modify the interchange and replace the bridge at US 64 and SR 1603 (North Old Carriage Road). The primary purpose of this project is to increase capacity, enhance safety and provide direct access to I-95 at SR 1700 (Sunset Avenue) in support of an economic development initiative in the Rocky Mount area. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is requesting interested Design-Build Teams submit qualifications for a Design-Build Project. The project, U-5026/U-5996/R-5720, will widen SR 1770 (Eastern Avenue/Sunset Avenue) and SR 1603 (North Old Carriage Road) to multilane facilities, provide an interchange at I-95 and Sunset Avenue, and modifies the US 64 and North Old Carriage interchange, in Nash County.
