Description

Project includes the construction of an aggregate surfaced haul road from the Scranton Iron Yard facility to the railway load-out area near the intersection of Grant Street and 1st Avenue in Hibbing. The haul road will require clearing and grubbing, excavation and embankment, select granular subbase, and aggregate base class 5. About 470 feet of 10-ft high steel privacy fencing will also be installed. The project also includes minor recreational trail repair, erosion control, and crushed rock safety berms. Two alternates are also included to construct either aggregate base or concrete pavement surfacing along the new spur track.
