Description | The consultant will implement the already designed Saratoga Creek Restoration Project, installing approximately 18,000 native plants and an irrigation system to support them into the approximately 3.7-acre site over a three-year period (three phases). Contract elements include mobilization/demobilization for each phase, planting area preparation, irrigation system installation, seeding, container planting, pole cutting installation, installation of revegetation signs, and plant establishment maintenance. The resulting contract is subject to prevailing wages as described below: a. This ITB includes Project Work Areas ("Work Areas") where prevailing wages apply. b. For the billing classifications subject to prevailing wages, Valley Water will not accept a proposal or enter into an agreement with a Bidder, without proof that the Bidder and its subcontractors (for which billing classifications subject to prevailing wages apply) are registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") to perform public work under Labor Code - 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions. Also note that the Bidder is required to be registered and prepared to submit proof of registration with the DIR, whether the Bidder's firm is doing work where prevailing wages apply. Bidder will also submit proof of registration with the DIR only for those subcontractors performing work where prevailing wages apply. d. For the Project Work Areas where the prevailing wages apply, Contractor shall comply with the State of California's General Prevailing Wage Rate requirements in accordance with California Labor Code, 1770, and all Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances applicable to the Work. The prevailing wage for the locality in which the Work is to be performed is set by the Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") as outlined in the applicable Prevailing Wage Determination at Electronically.
