Description | As of June 7 the project was awarded to Green Landscape Solutions for $804,789.61 . Work will include landscape demolition, earthwork/grading and installation of irrigation systems, hardscape surfaces, landscape plantings and various surface materials. This project will renovate and enhance landscape infrastructure within multiple roadway medians throughout the City of Louisville. The first phase of a multi-year project, "Tier One" medians were identified as being directly impacted by the 2021 Marshall Fire and/or in close proximity to fire damaged areas. Tier One median locations are as follows: McCaslin Blvd from Via Appia north to W Alder Street, Via Appia from McCaslin Blvd east to Tyler Ave and 88 th Street from Dillon Road south to St. Andrews Lane. In addition to repairing fire damage infrastructure, this project aims to maximize the rebuilding opportunity by re-imagining the aesthetic and ecological character of the areas. The goal is to not only make the areas more visually pleasing, but to decrease water use by eliminating turf grass, replace disease prone ash trees and revegetate utilizing a primarily native plant palette. The Scope of Work shall include but is not limited to the following: o Provision of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete work in accordance with project plans, details, specifications. o Removal of designated trees, plant materials, turf grass and irrigation infrastructure o Installation of design features including: irrigation systems, earthen berms, stacked rock walls, decorative concrete, metal edging, various landscape surface materials and plantings to include trees, shrubs, perennials and seeded grasses. o Coordination of an equipment and materials staging plan to be approved prior to construction. Note: On-site staging will be limited, however the City and Contractor will collaborate to identify staging locations in proximity to site access and work areas. o Coordination of a public safety plan to include street/lane/sidewalk closures to be approved prior to beginning construction. The contractor will be responsible for posting and updating all closure/safety signage throughout the project and communicating updates with City Staff. o The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all relevant City construction approvals including: Right-of-Way Access, Hydrant Meter/Backflow (if needed). No permitting fees will apply as the work will be performed for the City, however approvals still need to be obtained. o To ensure uniform bidding, please use the enclosed bid form. Bid form will be provided with plans and specifications following the pre-bid conference. |
