Description | For Awnings/Canopies at the following sites; 1.Lexington High School 2.Waterloo High School 3.Wilson Elementary School A Pre-Bid Conference will be not be held. Questions from contractors may be directed to Mr. Mark Waddell at 256- 760-1300. Bid packets may be emailed upon request by contacting the Lauderdale County Board of Education, 355 County Road 61 Florence, Alabama 35634, at 256-760-1300. Bids should be placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Lauderdale County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The Lauderdale County Board of Education is an EEO/AA employer and any successful bidder will be required to comply with applicable federal and state laws and executive orders. 1. Details for each site are listed below. 2. The three sites are; a. Lexington High School, b. Waterloo High School, c. Wilson Elementary School 3. Provide all labor, materials, equipment and services required to complete installation of walkway coverings as indicated. 4. Comply with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for installation. 5. Set plumb, level, and true to line, without warp or rack of framing members or panels. Anchor securely in place. 6. Awning/Canopy shall consist of heavy duty aluminum flat panel roof covering of at least .032 mil, and minimum 3 inch extruded poles. 7. Poles must be used as concealed downspouts for drainage of water from facia/gutter. 8. Poles shall be anchored to the concrete sidewalk as much as possible, or concreted into the ground. Where canopy can be attached to the building, poles will not be required. But recommended if needed. 9. Poles and roof panels shall be white in color. 10. Fasteners shall be heavily galvanized or cadmium plated. 11. Brackets, accessories, trim shall be provided and match primary members, as required for a complete cover installation. 12. Clean completed system promptly after installation. Remove excess sealant compounds, dirt and other substances from aluminum surfaces. 13. Supply manufacturer's standard literature and specifications for canopies. 14. Owner will be responsible for demolition and removal of old awnings. |
