2019 Roadway Paving and Reconstruction Project Phase II Improvements to Ernston Road

The project generally consists of concrete, roadway paving / reconstruction and utility improvements to Ernston Road and Lorraine Avenue between Garden State Parkway to NJ State Highway Route No. 35 / Mason Avenue rights-of-way located within the Borough of Sayreville. The work involved with these improvements includes the maintenance and protection of traffic; installation of approximately 1,000 lineal feet +/- of 6" diameter PPT underdrain; installation of approximately 40 lineal feet +/- of 12" diameter RCP of Class V storm sewer pipe reaches; construction of Type "C" inlet structures; reconstruction of approximately 22 +/- of various types of existing storm sewer inlet / manhole structures; removal and replacement of approximately 11 +/- of existing water service curb boxes; removal and replacement of approximately 5 +/- of existing deteriorated sanitary sewer manhole frames and covers; resetting of existing utility manhole castings and water main / hydrant valve boxes; removal of approximately 1,500 lineal feet +/- of various types of existing concrete curbs; removal of approximately 6,000 square feet +/- of various types of concrete sidewalks, driveways and/or aprons; construction of approximately 1,500 lineal feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete curb, approximately 5,500 square feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete sidewalk and approximately 1,000 square feet +/- of new standard Borough reinforced concrete driveways and aprons; furnishing and installation of cast-in-place handicapped sidewalk ramp delineation; restoration of hot mix asphalt parking areas and driveways; roadway milling of approximately 13,000 square yards +/- of existing asphalt pavement; crack / joint preparation and furnish / installation of joint sealer, if and where ordered; cutting / removal of approximately 500 square yards +/- of existing roadway asphalt pavement; the installation of dense graded aggregate base course, if and where ordered; installation of approximately 500 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt base course material, resurfacing the entire roadways with approximately 1,850 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt surface course material; application of approximately 6,500 lineal feet +/- of traffic pavement stripes / markings (4" wide lines); application of approximately 110 square feet +/- of traffic pavement markings (symbols); furnishing and installation of topsoil, seed and topsoil stabilization matting; right-of-way restoration; and all other preparation, restoration and associated work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
