Main Street Over Chemung River Bridge Rehabilitation

Project includes rehabilitating the existing bridge over the Chemung Creek to increase the service life of the bridge. This includes rehabilitating spalls and cracks in concrete substructures, retrofitting fatigueprone details on the bottom flanges of all girders in the positive-moment areas with high stress reversals, replacing deteriorated secondary steel members, and cleaning and painting girders and diaphragms in the vicinity of deck joints. It also includes the removal and replacement of concrete deck and approach slabs, and the removal and replacement of all high-steel rocker (expansion) bearings and mid-span bearings (expansion).
