Carpenter Hall B05 Systems Engineering Lab Code Compliance

The College of Engineering - Systems Engineering Lab in B05 Carpenter Hall will be renovated to bring the approximately $6Ksf up to code compliance. The space will be renovated to increase exiting, enhance interior air quality, reconfigure interior layout, and upgrade interior fixtures, finishes, and furniture. Major components of the project include: replacement of an existing emergency egress steel stair, creation of a new direct egress from the basement level to grade via a new concrete areaway, installation of a new air handler and associated ductwork to provide supply, return, and exhaust air, new lighting fixtures throughout, reconfiguration of space to include sound-isolated meeting rooms, a mechanical workshop, and general open lab space, and 1-HR occupancy separation from adjacent uses in the building.
